EAVELINE PLANNING GUIDE · 13 OCTOBER 2026
How to plan your roofline lighting length
Plan your roofline lighting using existing plans and a simple list of sections. Save your approximate metres with Eaveline.
Choose the sections first
A useful roofline lighting enquiry starts with a list of the sections you want lit. You do not need a precise installation measurement to register interest with Eaveline. Start with the front roofline, front and sides, outdoor living eaves, or a full roofline concept. Look at the home from the driveway, entrance and seating areas you use. A focused front elevation may suit your intended effect better than a full perimeter.
Make a simple section list
Use existing building plans or measurements already available. Record each section separately: for example, front left 8 m, entry 4 m and front right 8 m gives an illustrative total of 20 m. Mark uncertain sections rather than treating estimates as final measurements. Stay on the ground for this exercise. Do not climb onto a roof or use a ladder to complete the online enquiry. Gables, corners and height changes need assessment before ordering.
Record what metres do not cover
Note the number of storeys, changes in level, verandahs, gutters and your preferred track finish. A ground-level photograph can explain the layout, but does not replace a measured design. Cable routes, connections, power equipment and access requirements are distinct from the visible lit length. The final component list and allowances will be confirmed with the selected system. Avoid purchasing an exact quantity based only on an online planning number.
Turn your plan into an enquiry
At the proposed four modules per metre, 20 m represents about 80 modules and 50 m about 200. These figures illustrate the proposed spacing; they are not a final bill of materials. Send your postcode and tell us whether you prefer a DIY kit or local installation. Provisional measurements are welcome. We will confirm the configuration, pricing and availability before a paid order. Registration is free and creates no deposit or stock reservation.
